Hired to attend fathers’ funerals as their dead or missing gay sons, Ollie makes a living pretending to mourn in a country that tries to forget him.

Other People’s Dead Dads by Jacob Wasson is a darkly funny and deeply unapologetic exploration of the sissies who were never given a chance and had to make one for themselves. An epic journey across America in the early aughts, this play confronts what it means for young men to leave everything behind and run.

Directed by Gonzalo Delgado, this production performs in an art gallery in downtown Ann Arbor, for 42 audience members at each performance. A hyper-intimate theatrical experience, and a raw and guttural cry for freedom in two and a half hours of captivating theatricality held together by duct tape and Elmer’s glue.
